1939 6C 2500 Super Sport Cabriolet Pinin Farina

..*maybe* the 1-off body chassis 915026 which looks exactly like this one. However, colour, location (Germany says wiki) and reg. don't match with web #915026 history. Still, everything points to this body being a 1-off. All following info is about #915026 and not necessarily about our car here.

..only one listed in this registry (again 915026): www.alfacompanion.com/alfa2500/photobase/carpages/915/915.026_Pinin%20Farina%20cabriolet/index.html
..from the same link #915026 through time sporting 5 different regs (2 italian, 2 swiss and 1 UK), main pic plate doesn't look at all like any of these:

..Gooding & Co says #915026 is a 1939 "one of a kind" special body: www.goodingco.com/lot/1939-alfa-romeo-tipo-256-cabriolet-sportivo (sold 2014 for $4 mil by the way)

..sportscardigest.com/offerings-2014-gooding-pebble-beach/ "..was originally sold to Sigfrido Koelliker of Torino and, like many of the 256s, it was immediately reconfigured as a road car. Mr. Koelliker commissioned Pinin Farina to build a body for his Alfa Romeo and together they created this cabriolet, designed by Count Mario Revelli de Beaumont...In December 1940, the car was sold to Italian industrialist, soccer player and racing driver Piero Dusio, a loyal Alfa Romeo customer, who went on to create the Cisitalia company. By 1951, this car was sold to Karl Weber of Zurich. Weber raced the car in Swiss hill climb events and it remained in his care until the 1980s, when ownership was transferred to his mechanic..."
Note alfabb discussion above concludes Piero Dusio's car was #915011 -googling this brings up a completely different body. No word about Germany. But no word of the time spent in the UK either (see above pic).
So inconclusive but leaning towards the 1-off theory.

Nice! Though I doubt we'll be able to id this further, maybe it didn't survive long enough that's why there's nothing online. I guess that's a fake licence plate...?

edit: so yeah leaning... away from the 1-off theory, probably another chassis based on same design
