Hmm...this is interesting, the Police models only had the Chrome grill for 1998, (and I highly doubt all four cars are '98s). They're probably civilian models redone to look like police cars for the movie. Either way, list it as 1998 until we get fordguy's opinion, he should know the years of each of these cars.

Not so fast kiddo. These are all Police Interceptor models equipped with the Street Appearance Package (SAP). The unmarked one is a 2003 model and the marked ones are 2006-2007 models, all authentic vehicles from the South Carolina Highway Patrol. Antp, may I suggest giving the marked car it's own page, seeing as how it would be the newest confirmed Crown Vic on the site? Also, it's quite rare to see a marked police car with the street appearance package.

It does seem kind of redundant to mark a police car that is supposed to look like a normal car. By the way, how can you tell a 2003-2005 from a 2006-2007? Is it because the newer ones don't have any bumper trim and the older ones do? And is the 2008 model any different from the 2006-2007 models? (other than that they stopped selling civilian models for 2008)

From the shot, it's all in the wheels. Notice how the unmarked one has different wheels from the marked ones. The marked ones have cheaper, more plastic-looking hubcaps than the unmarked one, which has the chrome tires. As for the bumper trim, I've seen some SAP models that have the chrome trim, and others that don't. I don't know if there's a difference, but I've always wondered about that myself.

And taxiguy, you're right, it is a bit redundant. The only state police/highway patrol agency that I knew did this for their entire fleet was the North Carolina Highway Patrol. As far as I know, South Carolina went with the SAP's for their 2006 cars. Plus, many other smaller agenices within the Carolinas do this. So I guess you could say that it's largely a "Carolina thing." :D

Sure ;) I was planning to do that in case of a different model.
So here is it: /vehicle.php?id=147225

I remember that concerning '98 to present CV's, that some model years had a mast antennae on one of the rear 1/4 panels and some years had the antennae built into the rear window like my Jetta. Add that antennae to the too many other differences there are for any CV expert to memorize.

I want to say it was 2005-2006 that have the outside mast(R.R. 1/4)antenna.My '95 has the 'internal' rear glass antenna,it actually gets GREAT reception!!

2005 was the only year that the Crown Victoria had a rear-fender mounted whip antenna on the passenger side. So far, I haven't seen any on any of the CV's listed on this site.
