In British promo materials it was named "FSO 1500" at this time. It still had Polish "125p 1500" badge, but except this British importer used to place also its own, 2nd "1500" badge on the boot lid edge (it looked a bit strange). Vinyl roof can be not original in this case as the car has some custom addons, like the silver strips at the edges of grille and along wheel arches. Curiously exactly the same details, which 125p was meant to get with 1975 facelift, but finally serial cars didn't have them. |

Bought one of these at the auction in Derby very cheaply. I drove it home, the engine compartment was covered in oil, not much left in the engine, but still running. I put a couple of pints of oil in, cleaned it up and drove round the block, engine spraying oil out at the front. The pulley on the front of the crankshaft is a hollow casting, and the oil is passed through it and centrifugal force cleans it up. There was a crack in the casting, a new pulley corrected the leak and a good profit resulted! |
