Too recent to be an Austin ! This is a late-90's version, sold by Rover but with only "Mini Cooper" badges. In which brand will it be categorised ? |

I suggest to list it as a Rover. In the 1997-1998 edition of the French magazine "Toutes les voitures du monde" it was listed as a Rover. We would have to check if it was also sold under that make in other countries... -- Last edit: 2005-12-03 22:14:06 |

It was. The Austin name had been dropped since around 1990. |

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001). In Laura Croft's garage there are a bunch of exotic cars and bikes - including a Mini. Regrettably, they all get crushed when the house is trashed by the bad guys. |

Hi The Mini in the Tomb Raider film is a '2000 Rover Mini Cooper LE.' The mini that was crushed was its stunt double...as I can assure you the original is tucked up safe and sound in my garage. I will be taking her to the London to Brighton mini run on the 20th May. -- Last edit: 2007-05-17 17:29:34 |

The car on the main picture is indeed a stunt-double, because unlike the real one - seen on the Lotus M250 page - it has no front badge. Should we create another page, or simply list this as the 2000 Rover Mini John Cooper Works? Anyways, should be enough, the Range Rover just lands on top of it. -- Last edit: 2017-02-15 18:54:33 (walter) |

The stunt double is an older Mini (City, 1000HL; no tints so not Mayfair, but could also have been a cheaper special edition) with smaller 1980s mirrors as well as the missing badge. The dressing-up obscures any identifiable clues so it could not get a useful ID so no point in a new page The genuine W76 KAB from the M250 page |
