yes, it´s Lada 1200, in the Bulgaria rather named VAZ 2101. |

Looks alot like a FIAT 128 |

The shape of a Fiat 124 (of which is Lada derived) is very similar to the of Fiat 128, bud this is definitely Lada (I know it, my parents owned one when I was child). And Fiat 128 as a car of Bulgarian police? It´s unlikely. |

This was filmed in Bulgaria but the plot is set in Russia. That number plate is a bad fake that looks a bit like old Soviet plates. -- Last edit: 2007-09-17 12:16:16 |

This is VAZ/Lada, but Fiat wouldn't be so strange for Bulgaria, don't forget that in the 1960's for a while the Fiat 124 was assembled there by Pirin. Edit: rectangle mirror was to meet in 1973 for the first time, Ofc. it can be not original one. It laso can be a later one mounted to the doors - 1976+ -- Last edit: 2012-12-25 00:02:24 |

Quote from Wikipedia: Bulgarian The Fiat 124 was also produced under the name Pirin-Fiat in Lovech, Bulgaria, on the basis of complete knockdown (CKD) kits between 1967 and 1971 I hired one in Bulgaria in 1971. Nice little car, with 'Balkanturist' on the front doors: people kept mistaking it for a taxi. |

Is that your own photo, chris40? |

Jesus Christ seems there is also a Bulgarenault 10 on the far left, behind R16! Excellent picture, sad that we can't list it. What was exactly your work at this time Chris40 (if it is not an MI6 secret )? -- Last edit: 2007-09-25 14:45:38 |

@Gag Halfrunt: yes. @weasel1984: I was on holiday. I worked in a wages office ... my late mother, a teacher, and I had an arrangement: basically, I drove (she hated driving) and she paid We once or twice went to what were then Communist countries - yes, including Poland! - because they were cheap as well as interesting. |

Sounds like nice holiday in nice times from the automotive point of view. |

Oh, it was: they all were. And photography is a hobby of mine ... I'll try not to bore the site with my photos unless I think they're relevant. |
