For some reason I'm looking at the blcak one one the left. I think that one's a concept car. I have a two great books on concept cars (I'll have to dig one of them up). Story of this concept: Car was being shipped from Karmmen Ghia facilities to De Soto plant. Unfortunately, the ocean liner carrying it sunk(!). It was the copy and the design was also lost. |

Wasn't this the Chrysler Norseman, that went down with the Andrea Doria in 1956? Quote from Wikipedia on the Andrea Doria: 'The sinking produced a footnote in automotive history, as it resulted in the loss of the Chrysler Norseman, an advanced "one-off" prototype car which had been built for Chrysler by Ghia in Italy. The Norseman had been announced as a major attraction of the 1957 auto show circuit. However, it had not been shown to the public prior to the disaster, and was lost, along with other cars in the Doria's 50-car garage including a Rolls Royce.' I thought the Norseman looked rather more radical than the one in the main picture, and I found this: http://www.imperialclub.com/Articles/GhiaStory/Ghia222-reg.jpg -- Last edit: 2007-10-07 21:26:16 |
