The reg plate would suggest 1975-6. |

...but the recessed grill says 71/72, I think, and the chrome bumper/rubber bumper change took place in mid-1975. |

Does this car have New Zealand headlight? |

The black recessed grille was introduced in late 1969 equipping 1970 model year cars until August 1972, when the 1973 model year Bs received a black mesh ( and not recessed ) grille. The rubber bumper cars were introduced in September 1974 as 1975 model year Bs. |

No info on NZ assembly. Aus assembly started 63 and ran into 70s with code [YDO23], but reported to closely follow UK dates for changes, so not pursued here. |

For reference, overseas assembly of CKD kit MGBs reported as: 1] Australia 1963-72: Mk1 roadster - 5064 built until 1968 Mk2 roadster - 4026 1968-72 2] Belgium Mk1 roadster - 876 Mk1 GT - 104 Mk2 roadster - 24 3] Ireland/Eire Mk1 roadster - 96 Mk1 GT - 104 (apparently the same figure as Belgian Mk1 GT!!) Mk2 roadster - 92 Mk2 GT - 112. As Aus only recorded as making roadsters, this GT has to be UK build. |
