Here is a site that may give some clues. http://www.thornycroft.org.uk/Thornycroft%20Group%20N.htm Seems that it could be a J type. This one is fairly close to it. http://www.thornycroft.org.uk/Images_AB/Thornycroft_AB8.jpg http://www.thornycroft.org.uk/Images_AB/Thornycroft_AB7.jpg -- Last edit: 2007-08-24 23:40:43 |

Leyland A Type "Subsidy" truck from 1912 onwards, either 30cwt or 3-Ton, chassis that has been restored or a replica. The wheels, radiator and front bar are typical of trucks made by Leyland, initially sold for commercial use then resold to the government for later use in WWI. http://lanternimages.lancashire.gov.uk/image.php?i=52345&r=2&t=4&x=1 Link to "lanternimages.lancashire.gov.uk" A later rebuilt civilian version, on this site is listed as "The Chivers"..... http://www.historicroadways.co.uk/leyland-chivers.html (edit: links updated & restored) -- Last edit: 2014-08-22 10:30:53 |
