I would say it reads 'SOMUA' above the grille.

J'aurais plutôt dit Saviem SC1. Peut-être même carrossé par Chausson...

Yes it is Saviem - Norev makes such buses in H0.

The name has clearly five letters: SO**A
And Saviem was formed in 1955 by joining Somua, Latil and Renault. The brand name Saviem-LRS was first used in 1957, later Saviem only.
Therefore it is quite likely to find a similar looking but younger bus with the brand name Saviem.

The "v" and "i" are pretty close, that's why they looks like one letter, "a" indeed looks a bit like "o", but see here - identical label: /vehicle_12640-Saviem-SC-1-Chausson.html?PHPSESSID=42d7b5e6de5611dbf4940a82a551f2d0 If it was based on an older bus it was rather a Renault R4000 or something like that.

I am convinced.

At least the engine might be a Somua ;)

Here is a reference to the bus proprietor 'Gaby' (if I understand it correctly):

And they explained what the 'SC' means - I didn't know that. :D

Air France (though I'm not sure AirFrance did used the Saviem bodies, rather the gangloff versions)

SC1: Saviem
