Not sure if this is an appropriate request, but I am the current owner of 1173 NG and I wondered if anybody knows anything more about the car at the time the film was shot, why it was selected and anything else which might be relevant. I think it was supplied by a company by the name of 999 cars. Thanks in anticipation. |

Yes totally appropriate to ask. But sadly unlikely to get a useful answer at the moment - none of us have that sort of info. And the xkdata page in my link above only has the comment I added to link to this film. However we never know who might drop in on imcdb in the future, land on this page and maybe have an answer for you. Previous owners sometimes look up their treasures, and may give details of the filming loans. So keep checking every so often just in case ... What condition is it in now?? Any current photos welcome. |

Thanks for the response, I continue to research the history of the XK throughout its life and will report anything which might be of significance to its film career. I have uploaded a couple of pictures of NG as is, which is fortunately a very good condition and capable of regular use. The chap I bought it from, who I believe bought it shortly after filming in I believe 1976, repainted it in a slightly lighter shade of green, which will be remedied next year. |
