While LS would be the 'normal' trim level for the Coupé, this Rallye Kadett was sold without this, or even Coupé. SR was an engine option more than a trim level back then, wasn't it, but the base model was by what's available sold as Opel Rallye Kadett, sometimes as Opel Rallye Kadett 1100 SR

I was thinking more about the LS window line than a trim package.

I see. The fastback sedans were LS by default, while the standard Kadett body was Kadett or Kadett L. For this body, should you ever find a chassis number, it should start with 92, used for the Rallye Kadett or Kadett Coupé LS. Basic Coupé 99. BTW, even listed sometimes as Coupé F (for 'Fließheck' - Fastback) compared to the older but (in my opinion) more sporty looking 'Kiemencoupé' (chassis number starting with 32)

Edit: Could your Glass' have more info?

Glass's says Kadett range started here in Sept 67 (when Opel was reintroduced to UK) with huge selection of versions - saloons, estates, coupe and "fastback saloon" in both 2 and 4 door (although I was fairly sure we did not in fact get the fastback saloons here). LS tags used for the fastback saloons, the coupe, and the Coupe Rallye. July 1970 was range revamp, with the fastback saloons dropped, and we also lost the Olympia range at this point (similarly introduced in Sept 67, apparently with 2 and 4 door fastback saloons and the coupe).

So seems tore-40 and e225 are right about LS being a trim level and not a definition of the "fastback saloon" body, but am now confused by how we seem to use LS. If it's a trim level across several versions, why is it part of the model name in our collection?

See also this discussion (which also gets bogged down with US versions) and this comment
ingo wrote Anyways, when anyone in Europe talks about the Kadett B LS, he always mean the 1967-1970 "real" LS. This body version was dropped in 1970.

So should we keep Kadett LS model name for just the fastback saloons in Europe (and make all fastback saloons LS by default)?? Plus whatever we need to do for US versions.

Also noted that this is our only "Coupé LS" and that 2-door fastback saloons are scattered through both "LS" and "LS Coupé" (which is entirely 2-door fastbacks at the moment for its European examples).

@dsl: no, the LS was a body type, not a trim line.

So we need some decision-making. Do we decide to use LS only for the 1967-70 2 and 4 door fastback saloons (as ingo suggests), so it becomes a specific body identifier?? And remove LS from any other version?? And as a side question, would that also work for Kadetts in US??

P.S. this car here is NOT a LS!

Look at "Karosserie- und Ausstattungsvarianten" and the drawings at "Karosserievarianten" (body types). There it's clearly visible as a body type, not a trim line.
The LS is a Fastback Sedan, not a Coupe
