does this car have square headlights or is it just my eyes? -- Last edit: 2010-08-05 08:25:07 |

Just your eye tonkaTRACKER, indeed it is round headlights... |

@tonkaTRACKER: Is it my imagination that there is a badge between the front door and the wheel well. This one is close to the mid-line crease.. Check out the wheel design. Could this be Wolfsburg Limited Edition? |

@rjluna2 No this is not a Wolfsburg, I did see the badge on the fender but I am not sure what it is, the Wolfsburg badge is a round black badge this one looks like a rectangle. Also the only Wolfsburg Rabbit Convertible of this vintage that came in black is the 1984 Montego Black Metallic and it only came in a triple black with black Tarantula wheels. |

@an_unusual_guy the badge on this car seems to be larger than the normal Karmann badge, and it is also in the wrong place. The Karmann badge should actually be much lower on the fender (below the lower body line) |

"eye"... but i'm that too. agreed on both points. that one probably should be on that fender, but lower, and doesn't seem to be there. it almost looks like someone took the "KARMANN" badges off, and added the "Rabbit FUEL INJECTION" badge with the bunny that belongs on the trunk lid to the fender instead... |

Too bad, it would been nice if there is such a better shot on that |

It is indeed a Wolfsburg Edition, as evidenced by a) the white roundel on the fender, b) the color combination. It is a 1987 Wolfsburg Edition... Graphite Metallic with white top and white leather interior with Avus wheels to be specific. |

I would have gone along with jettncab's assessment. Due to the camera exposure, the blur shows oblong shot when the car is in motion. Here is what it should look like when the car is not in motion: /vehicle_644880-Volkswagen-Cabriolet-Typ-17-1986.html |

Wheel and badges look newer than 1980 |

That's what I thought based on my initial observation. http://museum.cabby-info.com/wolfsburgedition.htm (scroll down to the middle) |
