A direct reference to the Dodge Charger used in Bullitt which pursues the Challenger resulting in constant ramming. It subsequently rolls over spectacularly at the end of the chase.

This car has the "Convoy" rubber duck mounted on its bonnet. It also has "General Lee" wheel rims.

I'm taking a guess here, but this car is probably a leftover General Lee stunt car from one of the two Dukes of Hazzard movies.

not each of the 6 chargers, 6 challengers, and novas were purchesed from private owners.

From IMDB: The two cars in the chase at the end are a black 1969 Dodge Charger (an homage to the General Lee, with correct 10 spoke American Racing Vector rims) and a 1970 Dodge Challenger (just like the one Barry Newman drove in Vanishing Point (1971).

This car is actually a triple homage: It's a black Charger (Bullitt), has custom features similar to the General Lee, and it also has the same license number as the '69 Charger in Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry.

As a further part of the homage the earlier car Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russell) drives is a Chevy Nova with the licence plate from Bullitt's Mustang

Errr....no. It's a 1969 Charger. 1971 Chargers used a completely different body.

All that is not really necessary is it? A "Noooo! I don´t care if this is a fake. It´s a BEAUTIFUL Car!" would have been fine.

This is a 1969 because you can see the gas tank door thingy is on the top in the rear of the car, however, a 1971 has it on the side. I know because I have a '69 and '71 Charger HotWheels. But is it me or does it seem like the Dodge Charger is the most common muscle car? I mean, just think about it Fast and Furious, Dukes of Hazzard, Drive Angry, and this one. All in all, the Charger is beautiful and hate the modern one, it's body sucks

The primary stunt car, still mostly intact, ended up in Sweden. It was a factory green, base-model Charger, and was built up with a 440/Torqueflite combo and 4-wheel disc brakes.

Here is some more info (and pictures) of the surviving Charger and also the primary Challenger stunt car. Apparently six Chargers and three Challengers were used.

You're confusing it with the Nova...

The sound of the Charger's engine sounds like the engine from the Challenger from the remake of Vanishing Point.

I disagree, I think this is supposed to look like the charger from the TV series street hawk
