Kooshmeister ◊ 2008-03-08 21:50	Actually, this scene was shot in, and takes place in, Sardinia. They shot there first, for the car chase and stuff involving the beachside hotel, then went to Egypt. Unsure how this affects what it would be called, and, at any rate, if it means anything, IMDB says it's a Cortina. -- Last edit: 2008-03-08 21:55:19

Kooshmeister ◊ 2008-11-04 11:20	Randomly, because I just like random, useless trivia, in the novelization (and presumably therefore the script), it's said to be a Fiat (I know it's a Taunus/Cortina in the movie, I'm just saying is all), and is described as having a souped-up engine something fierce allowing it to keep up with the Lotus. It also crashes and explodes on some rocks rather than ending up in some poor guy's house. Jaws isn't in it in the book, though; I doubt even he could survive a car blowing to bits as described in the book (despite the explosion shown in the film the Taunus/Cortina remains surprisingly intact structurally). -- Last edit: 2008-11-04 11:23:50
