This car is not quite correctly ornamented. The Champion Custom had no hood ornament, but it also had painted instead of chromed headlamp rims. There should also be a hood crest. I think this car simply had all hood ornamentation removed prior to a repaint and it was not replaced. It's either a Deluxe or Regal Deluxe, depending on the absence or presence of stainless steel rocker panel mouldings. |

The more I look at this car, the more I think it is a Champion Custom on which someone has place chromed headlamp rims. I can see it has no gravel guards at all on the rear door, a unique feature of Custom Champions. Of course, that could also have been removed for repainting. -- Last edit: 2010-03-04 18:17:36 |
