If I've understood other comments correctly, Sonnendach-Limousine only applies to end of 61my. 62+ = 1200 mit Sonnendach.

Yes, but no. 1200 was added to model name during MY1962, but still with Limousine, as 1200 Limousine. Limousine dropped for MY1965, with the new body. Sunroof as an option rather than a model MY1964, 1964 seen as 1200 (Export-)Limousine mit Sonnendach. So if you list up to and including 1963 as Sonnendach-Limousine (adding 1200 for MY1962-63) and adding mit Sonnendach for 1964 you should be close.

1965 I have no verified info, 1966 used Faltschiebedach or Stahlkurbeldach depending on model, 1967-78 only Stahlkurbeldach listed. But for these years (1964+) as an option, should it be listed at all? We often do for Automatic transmission, among others

Still confused? I am.

This is, as said before, valid for the German market

In that case, I've got no chance. As often with imcdb, we can get multiple permutations of the same name even from official sources, and it's a case of picking one which works. And is likely to work for our successors in 5 years time who may well not be bothered to investigate the contradictions in any depth. So tore-40, now you are an admin and possibly our most Beetle-focussed admin (apologies if I'm marginalising other admins) you can probably choose to some extent what system we follow, provided the other VW-ists agree that it's valid and that it doesn't involve too much backward correction, although Sir Admin can execute block updates if asked nicely.

Basically sometimes on imcdb, someone just has to decide THE system (and explain their choice) so that the rest of us can follow happily behind. And we avoid parallel sets of duplicate IDs for the same car.

Will do in the near future.
