I don't think it is a Panther DeVille. The Panther has a leaping Panther as hood ornament and the Panther Wings-emblem. As far as I know, no 2-door coupés were made. Only 4-doors and cabrios...

The Panther was like an english Excalibur, and when i look at the Panther Deville i think of the Bugatti Royale that i believe the cars design was based on.

You could buy them with either the L6 4.2, or the 5.3 V12 Jaguar engines.

The clever thing is that registration would actually fit the criteria for a legitimate British plate: DEV 1L. In Britain you can't just have whatever you want written on a personalized registration like the in the US, it has fit a combination of numbers and letters, you couldn't just have GRAEME but maybe you could have COLIN (COL 1N).

Perfect choice of car for Cruella De Vil (Glenn Close), not only does it have a very appropriate name, but it looks similar to the car featured in the animated Disney film and in the original novel (which was zebra-striped and had the loudest horn in the country). I quite like the retro look (although some people criticized it), the coupe looks better than the 4-door version.

MyCarCheck.com says "The registration number you entered doesn't exist in our database." I'm surprised that no-one actually has DEV 1L. :)

it is a panther deville. it was modified for the movie, and they did make a 2dr coupe and a convertible version, but they didnt have the same rear as this car and they had a differently shaped rear window on the sides of the car.

The Panther Deville was handed over to a Panther Club where it was modified for the movie.

In the second movie the car was given a Chevy small block engine so it could generate enough power to perform a powerslide in which Cruella Deville decides do go the wrong way down a one way street in Paris. Because of the expense of the car, The camera as seen to be fixed on the bonnet was in fact attached to a modified vehicle with a bonnet replica attached to the front in case the stunt went wrong.
The car interior is Full black leather with red piping and still has 4 seats. although despite the lack of space, the crew still managed to climb into the back of the car. I think the the cars differ in shape in each movie, Evidence shows this as the spare wheel attached on the back of the car is placed higher up than that of the car out of the second movie. A member of the panther club visited the car in Paris but unfortunately it was in a bad way and had a trouble getting it started.

I hope This helped towards getting more info :)

No problem! Extensive research as well as Huntley Archives provided a lot of information via footage.
I am a massive fan of the car! :)

I discovered, some years ago, that the real license plate of this De Ville is "NPK 31P".
I saw it on the back of this car in an amateur video shot in '98 when it was on display at Disney-MGM Studios, Florida.
Here's a frame from that video:

I tried to check this license plate on https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ and here's the result:
Vehicle make: PANTHER
Date of first registration: 1 May 1976
Year of manufacture: 1976
Cylinder capacity: 5700 cc
Fuel type: PETROL
Vehicle status: Untaxed (Tax due: 1 May 2000)
Vehicle colour: BLACK
Wheelplan: 2 AXLE RIGID BODY
Date of last V5C (logbook) issued: 2 November 1999

I tried to check it also on other websites and here's a summary of the results:
Make: PANTHER
Model: TRANS M/LWBVE83
Body type: 2-Door Saloon
Colour: Black And White
Date of first registration: 1 May 1976
Year of manufacture: 1976
Cylinder capacity: 5700 cc
Fuel type: Petrol
