The livery is one of the 3 John Wyer team cars entered for 1970 Le Mans (set of 1:18 Norev diecasts from CK-modelcars). #21 was chassis #016, Pedro Rodriguez/Leo Kinnunen (retired), which was raced 1970-71 in upgraded 917 K-spec but built in 1969 in original spec. However if this is chassis [024] as you've entered (I haven't watched it yet) it's a lookalike which only raced at 1969 Spa 1000km (Mitter/Schütz, retired) and 1970 Le Mans Test (Redman/Hailwood, #22) which had a small race (4 hours??) which it won. So is a Le Mans winner of sorts. Then sold to Jo Siffert, used in the Le Mans film for action shots and a camera car, disappeared into storage, rediscovered in 2001 as a barn find, totally restored recently and sold for $14m at 2017 Pebble Beach. So both were built 1969, then rebuilt 1970 as 917 K. |
