Though sometimes, in my opinion, the fact of repeating the same name makes the first movies of that series look bad, like happend with for example Beethoven, the first ones were not bad, they were entertaining and fun, but the new ones simply sucked.

G-MANN ◊ 2007-12-16 01:56	This is the third of the Direct-To-Video (or DVD) American Pie sequels. Since it's DTV it doesn't bother me as much as if they tried to realise these theatrically, I never pay attention to DTV sequels of popular movies (American Pyscho 2, Cruel Intentions 2, Wild Things 2), for one thing they don't really resemble the originals except in name because they bring in all new characters (played by cheap D-list actors), so it in some cases it's not a continuation of the original story at all. Home Alone is the same case. The first and second were funny but I hated the third one.

I agree 100% the 1st Beethoven ruled, the 2nd was ok, and the 3rd was, well... descent, but everything after that just sucked ass.
