I've just noticed something here. The Mercury Topaz featured in this website. Are two models, Coupé and Saloon. And they in the same movie, they were very new cars at the time and they both have two stars rating. |

Thanks ![]() Pictures don't come from the DVD, right? My sister has DVD of both movies, since long time I was thinking that I should borrow these to add/upgrade pictures. And maybe that with the DVD the Saab picture will be sharp enough to give to it a page -- Last edit: 2007-08-17 00:30:11 |

"french cars in us-movies"-alarm! ![]() I just saw "ghostbusters" on tv and in one earler scene (i think, it was that one: vehicle_24446-Chevrolet-Impala-1980.html , the car behind the checker), there was such a car to see: vehicle_86779-Peugeot-505-1981.html , also in new york-taxi-version. |

I noticed a car, but I don't know how to upload a screen shot. The car is either 1.) 1975-1978 VW Rabbit or 2.) 1975-1978 VW Rabbit Pickup or 3.) a 1980-1987 VW Rabbit Convertible (or Cabriolet). They all share the same front end, so it's hard to tell. The Rabbit appears right after the Dodge police car falls into the buckling pavement. The camera flashes to the crowd and you can see a dark colored mk1 with North American metal bumpers and round headlights, for like 0.4 second. You have to be on your toes to catch it! |

I've just bought the DVD so I'll be updating this page with higher quality stills soon. Unfortunately Sven, I don't think this car you mention isn't visible clear or long enough for a listing. A Rabbit is just a US-market Golf (given a new name that surely must have been offputting to people who liked their cars big, beefy and macho) and that was hardly a rare car. -- Last edit: 2009-10-22 15:50:13 |
