![]() One-off BBC adaptation of best-selling novel about an elderly woman with dementia, set in present day and flashbacks to "1949". Heavy going but a vivid and thought-provoking insight into how the mind disintegrates. Apparently filmed in Paisley, though has no Scottish emphasis and my impression was other locations may be used. At one point a house For Sale sign has an 0191 (Newcastle) number, but may be a diversion. Only a few entries worth posting. These rejects are best of several distant/blurry backgrounds: - Merc (B-class something??) ![]() - Audi A2 seen a couple of times in same spot ![]() ![]() - ambulance with dropdown ramp ![]() ![]() - "1949" background things ![]() |

A taxi and a couple of Rovers, if I’m not mistaken. |

I didn’t, and shan’t, watch it. Too close to home, unfortunately. -- Last edit: 2019-12-11 23:25:53 |

Certainly not an easy watch - I nearly muted the sound at one point - but an excellent program nonetheless, with a great script and great acting. |

Are all of those buildings real or is it a composite with added CGI ? |

^ seems real - Mile End Mill in Paisley, possibly from Kilnside Road or similar parallel street in the grid. |

However excellent the performances and production values, it is, regrettably, a fact that when you have lived through the similar deterioration of a very close relative, the entertainment aspect vanishes. |
