Based on the non-fiction book "Eric" by Doris Lund, the real-life Eric Lund's mother. Starring John Savage as Eric, who also wrote the film's music. After filming wrapped, he was almost killed in a motorcycle accident and suffered a traumatic brain injury, describing it at "all the way back to being a baby", though he did recover in time for his breakout role in The Deer Hunter.
