I liked this TV series ... :)

Edited by vilero: Im sorry sixcyl I edit your comment but I hope tonyrome will see my message better.

@tonyrome, as walter says below you should edit your pictures without black boders. It does not matter in pictures as /vehicle_454332-Fiat-2300-S-Coupe-1962.html with only 1 or 2 pixels on left side but your last contributions with pictures as (currently) /vehicle_454505-Ford.html black borders should be removed. Thanks.

One with episode number, other with role... if we could have both on both pics it would be nice :D
The Vauxhall was already listed so let's add the episode on the existing one. And as there is anyway nothing else listed, we could add the other one.
shack-67 >> "extra info" is for info about car model (trim etc.) not info about who uses the car. And please use uppercase for first letters of names/models.

There are loads of other interesting cars featured in this series. I'll add details and photos as I have time.

Did these old ITC shows ever use location filming or indeed any non-UK filming?

Paris for sure. Here: /vehicle_454293-Singer-Gazelle-1959.html and the two Simca-pics, too.

Le Mans /vehicle_454294-Alfa-Romeo-TZ1-10511.html ?

Bella Roma, too: /vehicle.php?id=454461

Tonyrome, you should remove black borders of the new pictures

They were almost always filmed either on a set or on roads local to the set. They used stock footage of an 'exotic' location, then cut to studio sets. The Persuaders was an exception, as it had a higher budget and was partly filmed on the French Riviera.

All the images are taken from the same application - Cyberlink PowerDVD - which has an option to take a snapshot of the frame, so I have no idea why some appear to have a small border. For subsequent uploads, I am cropping the images, to remove this problem.

I'm working my way through the remaining episodes and will then move on to Jason King, so I'm sure there will be some more trucks for you to identify!

All the episodes of Department S have now been covered. The only omissions are every appearance of the same car in different episodes, eg. the Bentley of Jason King, the Lancia & Lotus of Annabelle Hurst and the Vauxhall of Stewart Sullivan, since I was not sure whether this was desirable. If it is preferred to reference every appearance, I can add those, too, when I have time.

The episode list is wrong: according to IMDb there are 8 episodes in the first season and 20 in the second, but here all the 28 episodes are listed under season 1... Antp can you adjust them all at once?

Sandie SX

2011-12-06 13:46

@ tonyrome: One page per car but additional images can be added in the comments on the page of the cars in question if you wish.

And why do you automatically assume I'm wrong?! The fact is that IMDb is incorrect, if it lists two seasons. Only one season of Department S was made.

Seconded from Scotland :king: . Lots of interesting nuggets for us vultures to play with. Or even mix a few metaphors.

Yes, the series features aircraft in several episodes but I wasn't aware of the interest in them on this site until later.
