This film was set during the Sierra Leone Civil War from the 23rd March 1991 to the 18th January 2002. The Sierra Leone Civil War had resulted between 50,000 and 300,000 killed with another 2.5 million displaced internally and externally. This film also highlights the issue of conflict diamonds (or blood diamonds) that were used by the rebel factions to obtain their weapons, under the UN Laws regarding the trade of conflict diamonds, any diamond dealers identified for being involved in the trade of conflict diamonds, the only punishment they face is their name taken off the accredited diamond dealers list. -- Last edit: 2021-07-17 15:34:44 |
