From an April news story:
Quote CORIO and 150 Geelong residents will star on the big screen alongside Nicolas Cage when a scene for a $50 million thriller is shot in the city this month.

Budding actors have been urged to apply for roles in the science-fiction drama Knowing when filming begins in Corio from April 28-30.

A film spokeswoman said 150 extras were needed for the scene which will be shot on a Corio section of the soon-to-be opened ring road.

The spokeswoman said the scene would be the aftermath of a plane crash on a freeway.

One hundred extras are needed to play the roles of motorists and would need to supply their own cars while another 50 people would be cast as paramedics, police or journalists for the chaotic scene, the spokeswoman said.

Just went and seen it. Weird at first, then blossoming into a meaningful film. It carries with it, a sad and despairing atmosphere, but a surprise hope.

I thoroughly enjoyed it :)

I saw this movie today.

A couple more cars to be added:

1988-89 Ford LTD Crown Victoria - *** stars (it's the Alien's car, who knew extraterrestrials had such good taste in Earth vehicles?)

1993-94 Ford Crown Victoria - * star (background taxi in NYC scene)

Volvo Station Wagon - ** stars (model unknown)

Did anyone take notice of the cars in the background during the scene on the roof of the museum, when John is talking to Diana, they were driving on the left rather than the right. The correct side of the road for Australia.
