 I have the novelization, and at one point Clara (the rich idiot) says: "This is a racetrack, not Africa."
Funny how she says that and the entire movie was filmed in ZA...

 All main pictures changed into slightly smaller but less blurry ones. The time-codes I added are from a 98 minutes version, while the full release lasts 102 minutes.

Apparently not the entire movie, as the racetrack is the Santa Anita Park, in California:

 ... or, after verification, what appears in the credits are maybe just thanks for technical advices, as the Santa Anita racetrack and the one shown in the movie don't seem to have anything in common :)

Quote The big race, set at the fictional Turfway Park, was shot at the Scottsville Race Course in Pietermaritzburg, not far from the coast of Durban. Because the team couldn't find a race track in South Africa that resembled Kentucky, they built everything from scratch. The grandstand, which had to hold one thousand spectators, involved considerable constructional engineering. It was then dressed with fronting, flags and swags. The saddling ring and winners circle structures were also kept simple to highlight Stripes' winning moment.
