Agreed! The reason why I submitted these images was because I really liked the scene when they shoot at all the salesmen that come to their door!

I know! That was hilarious! I was going to do this movie (as I have the DVD), but I haven't been able to contribute as our newer computer (which can play DVDs) currently does not have internet, and our old computer (which is supposed to be able to play DVDs, but can't) is the only one with internet. Good job on the pictures anyway :king: (I'm not the best at captuing the right shot). You should add the plane  .

Also, very good soundtrack (but I've had those songs long before I saw the movie).

Does this movie take place in the 1950's?

Early 60s. I don't think the exact year was ever specified. The first and last scenes take place modern day (which would explain the Diplomat and BMW). There's also flashbacks to the early 20th century.

Yes, but the beginning and end are in the 1990s. Its sort of hard to explain.

Yeah, the grown-up Walter looked too young to have been a teenager in the early 60s. I don't think this is based on a true story, so it's kind of strange that a movie made in 2003 would have scenes set in the 90s.

Lets see. The story begins in the 1990s (or early 2000s), when Walter gets a phone call about his uncles dying in a plane crash when they attempted to fly through a barn. Walter then remembers how he met them. The story then goes on to tell the story of Walter's life with his uncles. Then, they flashback again to when the two uncles were young. Then, the it all ends in present time with the Beater.

I just watched the special features. The film takes place in the summer of 1962.

In the 60s there were Peugeot 403 and 404, including in the USA ;) (cf the 403 of Columbo)

I always thought the 403 looked like an old American car, just shrunk, so it doesn't look too out of place in the states.
