I've seen various posters, pics and what not for this movie, and in one I easily spotted a Dodge A-Series van from the 1960's. It's already out in the US, so hopefully I'll see it soon. |

I there's a character named after Mario Andretti and is even voiced by him. |
|
◊ 2006-06-17 19:26 |
Yes, it is that 1967 Ford Fairlane, which looks exactly like the Holman Moody car Andretti won the Daytona 500. |

I recently noticed, and after seeing Toy Story 1 and 2, someone in the graphics dept at Pixar is a big Pete cabover fan. Theyre in nearly every Pixar movie. |

http://imdb.com/title/tt0317219/trivia To get the accurate car models and years for the main characters got to www.carsthemovie.com Joe Ranft's final film. Sarge is a 1942 Willys CJ-2A Doc Hudson is a 1951 Hudson Hornet Sheriff is a 1949 Mercury Cruiser Flo isn't based on any single car but shares elements of the 1951 Buick LeSabre, the 1951 Buick XP-300, and the 1956 Dodge Dart--all actual show cars. Lizzie is a 1913 Ford Model T The King is a 1970 Plymouth Superbird, one of Richard Petty's most famous rides. The King's paint scheme is exactly as King Richard's was in the 1970 NASCAR season. Ramone is a 1959 Chevrolet Impala, a very popular car with the low riders. Luigi is a 1959 Fiat 500. Guido appears to be a BMW Isetta. Mater is a 1955-1957 Chevrolet or GMC truck. Sally is a 2002 Porsche 911 Carrera (Type 996). -- Last edit: 2006-07-07 18:43:29 |

Yes, it's a 67 Fairlane. Looks like a 1967/68 Plymouth Fury/Belvedere to me. |

How come the tuner cars aren't on there? Snot Rod, Wingo, Boost and DJ |
|
◊ 2006-08-03 14:47 |
DJ picture was posted here above, in the comments, as it does not seem to be a real car... |
|
◊ 2006-08-03 22:19 |
In the UK version, Jeremy Clarkson does the voice of an announcer I believe. |

DJ could be a customized scion bb |

These bumper stickers are great. I'm amazed nobody's selling some of them in real life. |

The DVD just came out here in Tasmania. The movie is great, BUT the extra features are lacking. Lets hope there will be a 2-DVD version soon. |
|
◊ 2006-10-31 02:19 |
I think that Snot Rod is a 1970 Plymouth AAR Barracuda. |
|

I love this movie as I live very close to the actual Route 66. When you see Mack driving towards California near the beginning of the movie, you can see fields of corn and a grain elevator in one shot, and that's exactly what it looks like around here. ![]() I take the route every day on my way to school, and the scenery is great except for the 4 lane interstate built right next to it. Just like the movie portrayed, there's few run-down gas stations and abandoned roadside restaurants along the route. And of course, they went out of business soon after the arrival of the interstate system. |

I added the H1. There are probably other identifiable cars in the movie that are missing here but I am a little lazy, I'll left that task to somebody else (and making captures from original DVD would be better, for both cars to add and replacing some of the existing ones). |

◊ 2006-11-12 23:13 |
cool..thanks. Wickey's doing some too. i'm trying to get the same scenes as originally posted to pay respect to the person(s) that originally submitted them. |

If for some there are really better picture you can change the scene ![]() I think for example to the "Doc" Hudson, there are much better views in the movie... |

Good job, ahight, these look much better than the original pictures. |

Oh Man, I want to watch this movie, despite the fact i'm 16. |
|
◊ 2006-11-14 21:38 |
I felt the same way before I saw this movie, and I'm 18. It's a excellent film well worth watching, and it's one I believe everyone should see. It doesn't really feel like a movie made just for kids- there's a lot of subtle adult humor too. Oh, and a great soundtrack! |
|
◊ 2006-11-14 22:54 |
Yes, this kind of movie is not only for kids. Like most of this kind of movies actually, I think. |
|
◊ 2006-11-14 23:01 |
Well i think every animated movies are for everybody although they are supposed to go to a non-adult public, anyway ive seen most of the animated movies and i still love them, this one of course, was the best for me for obvious reasons ![]() |

|
◊ 2006-11-26 00:09 |
Well, I think Guido is supposed to be a BMW Isetta but we can't really add him because he's a forklift. |
|
◊ 2006-11-26 11:02 |
i dont think Guido is a BMW Isetta, its just a forklift... |
|
◊ 2006-11-26 14:09 |
It is a forklift, but with a Isetta-style (why BMW btw? it is rather an original italian Isetta I guess) |

In my version of Cars... A 1987 Blue FJ60 Toyota Land Cruiser to play the rugged, outdoor, loner character. A 1979 International Harvester Scout II to play the adventurous and seductive female. A Black 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback to play the dangerous hero. A 1985 S-Class Turbo Diesel Mercedes to play the wise older character. A Volkswagen Karmann Ghia for the shy but mysteriously beautiful female. A Jeep Grand Cherokee (any year would work) to play the frat guy (who would later explode). A Jeep Liberty to play the sorority girl (also explodes). A 1989 Mitsubishi Pajero for the mercenary or insurgent. A 1991 BMW 850I 12-Cylinder for the suave daredevil (similar character to Fastback). A 1938 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic Coupe to play the mob boss. A Jeep Grand Wagoneer for the surfer dude. |
