Accused of a murder which he did not commit, Jimmy Tracy ( Wallace Ford), a bad New York boy, runs away in England by borrowing the identity of his victim. On the spot, he finds himself enlisted in the British army where he makes friends with Bert Dawson (John Mills), a career soldier. Both would like to win Sally Briggs's heart (Anna Lee), daughter of the quartermaster sergeant. But when the fights rage, the friendship and the solidarity get over it.
