![]() 1-minute long road safety film taken from the ![]() COI Collection Volume Four: Stop! Look! Listen! 2-DVD set. Ominous presentation emphasising how quickly (in this case 60 seconds - the onscreen counter goes from 60 to 0 in real time) an unattended child can be killed from an innocent everyday situation. While her mum just finishes a bit of sewing on the titular sewing machine, a little girl sits quietly playing by herself on the pavement, but suddenly sees her best friend across the road and runs across, with predictable results. The collision is not shown, but sound effects and mum's terrified face when she hears the crash are enough. Very stark and the Central Office of Information received several complaints. However it seems the main problem was that the girl's best friend ![]() was the first black girl to be featured in a public information film.
