If there's a decent shot of any of the VWs, would be worth a page for Dublin builds - the first factory assembly outside Germany.

Surdprised how many cars here were made in Eire.
Would this Mini OZA143 be local assembly?

Probably much more common to see the second option

The variety of makes is amazing, although in some cases the actual numbers made are very low - only a handful per year. Almost all were franchise agreements, and in some cases were short-lived, and/or then re-emerged made by someone else. Only Ford (I think) was directly owned. The big knowledge gap - for me at least - is the assembly of commercials - trucks/vans/buses - which almost certainly happened for the usual British big names in reasonable quantities, but no info traced for who/what/when.

I thought “Guinness is good for you” was fairly straightforward!

^ There's no such thing as free beer - you always have to pay the bill.

Dublin plate, June-July 60. Interesting bonnet badge - unlike English Austin or Morris, and too early for Cooper. Both Austin and Morris badged Minis were built from very early on in 1959, but by separate companies (Austin was Lincoln & Nolan; Morris was Brittains, who also did Riley Elf; and a third company - Booth Poole did the Wolseley Hornet. Eventually a fourth company - Reg Armstrong - took over all Irish Mini builds).
