It's an English word spelled in Cyrillic - should it be "Bodibilder"? |

We follow what is listed on IMDB. Get it changed there, then we can change it here. |

No, English title on IMDb's main title box stays to support their default English language option on their site. Here in IMCDb, we use the localized native title as our main title instead to prevent users misleading this as an actual North American movie. Do we know that there's an ability to change our language option on both sites, right? -- Last edit: 2023-07-31 09:44:49 |

We follow the guidelines set by the webmaster for the site, and unless he says otherwise, we follow what is listed on IMDB. |

Same issue as a lot of Korean titles. I find that it has no reason to be listed as "Bodibilder". The original title is "Бодибилдер" which is "Bodybuilder" written in Cyrillic. So the best way to list it would be something like "Бодибилдер (Bodybuilder)" to keep it usable those not used to Cyrillic alphabet, but until I add a better support for non-latin titles in the site, keeping it as alternative title is probably a better option. |

Deleting my post above on this entry and agreeing with @antp, seems Gamer was indeed misleading here. We don't need to change that title, just leave that English main title for both IMCDb and IMDb without the Cyrillic words, I think the Russian filmmakers were indeed used that English title right for the full release. Which is why we come to something I really want to suggest for a very long time; implement the IMDb's "Original Title" box to IMCDb. Why? To drive out the misleading users here and end this situation. The current main title box will still be used to fill the English title, while the "Original Title" box is very important, where that is where we fill its localized title, based on its country origin, maybe we can have a script where a movie entry shows the title from "Original Title" box over the main title one, something like the "Original Title" swaps the Main Title's position. As always, "Also Known As" section won't be fully removed, because we need that section for title release in other countries. Feel free if you can think of it if the time is right, I remain to keep a lookout for misleading users who sees an English title of a movie page on our site without a matter of checking the country origin first, thought it was originated from USA, Canada, UK, Australia or any other main English-speaking countries. -- Last edit: 2023-07-31 09:47:28 |

It is a feature that we planned for the next version of the site and that I will probably add soon to the current site : possibility to indicate for each of the alternative titles if they are International / English, transliteration, translation, etc. I also have to add support for Unicode titles so we can put the non-Latin titles as main ones, with the international title displayed beside to make it easier for all users. And keep the list of translated titles below as current. |
