Two titles, "Le monde tremblera" and "La révolte des vivants", for this pre-WWII French science-fiction movie, yes, French science-fiction movie, a rarity in French filmographies.

And it is the very versatile Richard Pottier who directed it, with the help of Henri-Georges Clouzot at the writing.

Claude Dauphin and Madeleine Sologne

is the somehow doomed couple,

but the cast is full of first, second and third-plan actors, among them Erich von Stroheim in one of his usual French roles,
and Roger Duchesne, of Bob le flambeur fame.

A young scientist discovers the principles which make him able to build a machine predicting the day and the hour of people's death. Mayhem ensues…

possibly IDable.
