dsl ◊ 2014-09-10 19:09	Fairly pedestrian account of Britain before the 1951 festival; the last film directed by Humphrey Jennings before his death in 1950, so date is correct. Lots of trains and boats and planes, but strangely only one imcdb vehicle. Lots of atmospheric pictures: Avebury Derelict WW2 radar sttation at Beachy Head - now long gone, probably fallen into the sea Other stuff: More early Wurzels footage for ingo Planes for impdb 1] Comets. G-ALVG was the prototype with those fatal square windows ... 2] Viscount G-AHRF - the first one made 3] flying boat factory - see also background in 1st thumb And - sadly - this has been the last film from all these 1930-50s documentaries on my DVD box sets. Bit of an anticlimax really, but it was an interesting journey.
