This is as many vehicles that are visible and can be identified. I'll add the motorcycle later.

My Dad has a black 1954 Ford F-100 stake-bed that would fit perfectly in this movie.

this movie has some things that are a little more accurate to the short story. What's stupid is at the end of this movie, the survivors of the lunar gas station are picked up by a helicopter that flew without a pilot and a voice (probably the helicopters radio recorded a pilots vioce and used it) says "Just hang on folks".

I don't remember the Tonka, what does it do? I am guessing it killed someone/something/an animal. If it killed an animal, I can't watch this movie. I can not stand movies killing animals and the only reason I can watch Maximum Overdrive is because I either close my eyes while the scene with the dead dogs goes by or I watch my personal taped version where I cut out that part and the sex scene.

i'll tell you about the scene where they show the tonka. okay, there's a mail man making a mail delivery in front of a small toy store. the tonka comes alive and pushes two toy car haulers facing towards the window in the door. the tonka backs up and drives over the car haulers and flys out the window. this makes the mail man jump and notices the window is broken. thinking it's a kid, the mail man grabs a small bottel of pepper spray. The tonka shows up from behind a wall and rams right in to the mail mans leg and the mail man looks down at the tonka and then tells the kid (who's not there) to come out. the tonka rams into his leg again and he trips over the curbs and falls onto the road. The tonka appeares on the road and rams into the mailmans face 7 or 8 times, and then drives away. I too hate it when in movies animals die.

I was starting to feel alone when it came to animals being killed in movies. I think it is even worse when cars kill animals, especially because my previous Shetland Sheepdog (Miniature Collies to most), Simone, was hit and killed by a 1992 Chevrolet Corsica.

I'm sorry to hear that. My first dog died after licking anti-freeze that someone poured on everyone's driveways.

So it`s better to watch people(women and children) die rather than animals??? ...Don`t think so. You do know that machines doesn`t have human feelings like us?(just watch the suburb-scene in Maximum overdrive)And the blood on the Tonka-truck looks more like strawberry jam to me. :hello:

Well, in my opinion yes. Because, animals are completely inocent! They have never done anything seriously wrong (murder, theft, etc.) and children, women and men all are capable and usually do comit crimes. If my dog Tars were in a house on fire you bet I go back in to save him! Or, if my other dog Cheyenne were on our lake and she fell through the ice, even if there was the slightest chance of saving her I would. My two dogs and cat are the best things I have, well family is just as good..

I usually like these kind of movies, But NOT when it involves innocent animals and kids. In Maximum Overdrive, a baseball player or two on Deke's team got killed by a steamroller.

The bottomline is that machines (trucks, cars, e.t.c.) doesn`t care what they kill as long as it has a pulse. They do not have a human factor, like feelings and moral ethics. :hello:

Does that scene where the toy truck kill the mailman get cut out of the televised version? That's the only version I've ever seen of this movie and I swear, I've never seen it. I've heard it's really gruesome though, especially compared to the rest of the movie. Unless a lot of other gore got cut out of the televised version?

As for animals and children being killed, I think the reason that we get more emotional about them is that maybe we tend to view them as more innocent and trusting, and therefore they seem like so much more of a victim and that makes it more tragic when they're killed? And even in real life, usually when you see a kid or animal get hit. An animal doesn't know to look both ways before crossing the street, and many of them probably look at a car coming at them as any other predator, and instinct just tells them to freeze so that the predator (the car) won't "see" them. And children often just don't have the life experience to watch out, so they run out in a street after a ball and get hit. Now adults know better. Well, theoretically. But then they get into this "the world revolves around me" attitude, and sometimes forget that there are things in the world that can kill them!

I guess as long as you can mentally separate reality from fiction, and aren't the sick, twisted type that would actually go out and repeat some of these twisted acts of violence, there's really no harm done.

I totally agree! Thats my Mom's opinion of violent video games and movies like Scarface, as long as you know and understand that it is just a movie/videogame and aren't the kind that'll go out and start shooting people, it is okay to watch them.

If it was made for a US cable channel, the limits on sex and violence would be less strict. This in turn could lead to a "made-for-TV movie" being edited for broadcast channels.
