I saw this film, and this film shows another problem in the American Justice System where American prosecutors are forced to make these "plea bargain" deals with the criminals and their lawyers in hope to avoid a trial where the criminal could walk away a free man knowing the prosecutors can't retried them for the same crime due to the American "Double Jeopardy" law.

These deals would often see the criminals do time in prison for a lesser charge than the one they were originally charged with and would see them out in a few years and would also lead to a "tit for tat" tension between the District Attorney Office and the detectives who worked on the cases in which the criminals were originally arrested and charged for and quite possibly; cops refusing to testify for the prosecution in other cases.
