The plane is a Reims FR.172G Rocket, effectively a Cessna FR.172 Skyhawk built under licence and with a more powerful engine in France for the European market. It seems the plane is still active, therefore probably a model was destroyed.

The Cessna FR.172 range is the most often built plane with more than 43000 units starting with deliveries in 1956 and still producing. For 2008 a new diesel engined version has been announced.
