The bit with all the police cars (when Andy Dufresne espaces from the Shawshank prison) is set in 1966. The film begins in 1949.

I realise some of the police cars I've listed may be the same model and perhaps should be grouped together on the same page, I will sort this out tomorrow, right now I need to go to bed.

Pictures were DVD-size but really not DVD-quality (and I missed many cars, it seems)

Are all the Dodge Coronets exactly the same model and year? Some of them have white strips on the trunk lid, some don't.

Can someone please answer the above question, so I can finally sort this page out.

Ha ha, I know I've left it for ages, I'll sort it out myself :D (although maybe not tonight, since I'm busy with finishing The Sopranos page, but I will do it)

If I hadn't limited picture size on the site to DVD-resolution, I could have replaced your "small" pictures by bigger ones from Blu-ray version of the movie [:ddr555]

Some more background cars may be identifiable from that version but anyway still too small/far for being listed (and in addition of that, for a reason that I do not know, I could not get a capture of the first cars of the row in the following)

Alright, tonight I will sort out the Coronets. But first, let me check for the last time, are they all the same year and model? I only ask because some of them look different at the rear.

Would you change the size limitation to accommodate Blu-Ray and HD-DVDs? Do they naturally come out larger than DVD captures (which are usually 720 x 405 pixels)?

HD can go up to is either 1280x1080, which is quite huge. I do not think it is useful to allow so big pictures, mostly because of the file size increase that it represents but also because it will be too big for many people monitors.

That is too big. What is the default size?

Default size of what? Of HD? Some TVs have a little lower resolutions but Blu-ray has that resolution, aswell as HD-DVD I suppose.

I have a 15" monitor and for Windows I use a resolution of 1024 x 768, so an ideal image size for me would be about 900 pixels wide. Anyway my DVD player and DVD drive doesn't play Blu-Ray or HD-DVDs, and for now I don't have any plans to start buying either of those.

Mine is 1440x1080 but I usually try to think to people who still use 1024x768 when modifying the site :D

The problem if I allow larger pictures is that many non-HD pictures will still be uploaded with larger sizes. E.g. when capturing with WinDVD I get pictures of 852 or 1024 pixels wide, depending on the DVD (despite the fact that the DVD image is actually in 720 pixels wide).

19", but a good CRT one, so it allows higher resolutions :) (usually TFT 19" give same as TFT 17", i.e. 1280x960 or 1280x1024)

Mine is still a CRT, and it only goes up to 1280 x 1024 and at that resolution the icons and text become microscopic. Since I only sit about 2 feet away from my screen, I don't need something that big :p
