Blurred traffic vehicles: Anything worth a page of its own? Perhaps the Porsche 911 Turbo cabriolet or the Mercedes-Benz limousine? Car park, nothing especially interesting that I can see: -- Last edit: 2014-08-29 00:13:57 |

Not a Turbo - no rear picnic table. Probably 86+ Carrera widebody. Too blurred for me to say definitely give it a page, but no objection. The yellow Mazda 626 saloon might be worth a page for unusual in UK?? -- Last edit: 2014-08-29 00:16:25 |

Part 1 of a loose trilogy with /movie_120028-Robinson-in-Space.html and /movie.php?id=1714893 ; similar unusual style - a sort of travelogue around London this time with a gradually emerging diary of the main events (IRA bombs, general election and John Major's victory, Maastricht treaty, ERM failure, etc) through 1992 read by Paul Scofield in a monotone which becomes almost hypnotic as it constantly produces apparently random facts and comment - social, historic, financial, political, literary etc - against some striking imagery which makes mundanity become fascinating and creates an incisive and depressing portrait of what London was like in 1992. Some very deadpan quotes - "Britain had become a one-party state", "it didn't matter anymore what the Conservatives actually did, they would still get elected", "London is full of interesting people, most of whom want to be somewhere else", "life in London is like a hospital ward where everyone keeps wanting to swap their beds". Excellent film - recommended if you like powerful slowburners with a dollop of quirkiness. Have upgraded everything on like-for-like basis from DVD (apart from all the captures outside the MacDonalds - despite better quality, they still come out blurred, so I decided life's too short. Also didn't spot the MCW Metrobus to upgrade, but am sure it's in there somewhere). Plus added a couple of new entries, timings, extra pics etc. There's a blue Dotto-ish train thingie in the centre during the sequence - anyone know if this was an opening gimmick or a permanent feature?? Old Wembley twin towers behind. IRA bomb damage 1992 general election I thought it was illegal to film voters going in/out of polling stations?? Is Major's Jag worth a page - it can presumably be cross-referenced for an exact ID?? for imPetrolPriceIndexdb - I guess the double prices are per gallon and per litre?? the Oval - a graphic demonstration of the true level of English enthusiasm for cricket. The best bit of this sequence is watching a man chase off the pigeons, but as soon as he stops, they just come back again as before. Other stuff Plane for impdb |
