@TheCarson116 - For non-fiction TV, it must have an interest for the site and somewhat a link to cars (i.e. avoid listing a documentary where you simply see shots made in the street with normal traffic cars). A contribution posted solely from a Youtube source without additional referencing is unlikely to be acceptable unless it has an exceptional interest for the site.
So you must first ASK US (via the comments once you submit this page) if it is accepted or not, before adding all vehicles. You can add a few vehicles (2 or 3) as sample of the contents and image quality, though.

- If it is not on IMDB, in the comments on the newly created page you MUST provide some information about the movie/series/documentary/video and a reference source

- Black bars need to be cropped out of the pictures

it's a children's series, not fictional. Could become a large collection. I don't know if it's well known enough for that.

Star-ratings seem rather high for this kind of show, if a vehicle is seen for a whole episode I'd say at most 4-star (i.e. subject of the episode), and if only seen for some time in the episode then at most 3-star.

About being accepted or not on the site, my first opinion would be that it seems acceptable, as it seems somewhat focused on the vehicles and their task

If everybody could edit everything, the full website would reach the apocalyptic status in less than a month...
No problem for those who knows what they are talking about but those who don't ... we'll end up soon in bunches of incorrectly identified vehicles and it would take forever to bring back some order

I have been a member of this forum for a long time, and for an unmoderated site the behaviour is remarkably civilised. There are very few occurrences of bad language, and if someone makes a mistake in identification polite corrections are almost always accepted with good grace. All of this probably stems from the editorial policy used in running the site, and if a vote were to be taken on continuation of that policy in unchanged form, I would support it.

He was just joking :p
Usually the ban comes only when other admins ask it.
For the reason why users can't edit like on igcd is that we are working on a new version of the site where that "edit with validation" feature was added (but we don't know yet if we'll leave it for everyone or just selected members), but we didn't make evolve the old (current) version. Igcd & imcdb are evolving separately, each site has its own path now.

Indeed, if we went the other way there would be anarchy, people would be changing all sorts of things probably without commenting. At least the current way we can track who's proposing what and what their reasons are for the identifications so there is a degree of scrutiny. It would be a nightmare that was impossible to keep track of otherwise.

I agree on the rule too. I think it is very helpful against users who insist that they are always right (Donovan Savage for one, who got banned). Admittedly I did that when I got here a little over a year ago, probably did annoy some of the Admin, but after a while I realized I wasn't right and that I needed to start off somewhere easy and work my way up. There is a learning period when users arrive on this site, usually takes a while.

It's right there on the Help page:
•No ordinary background "traffic" cars (includes parked cars) for documentaries, reality-TV or music videos.

Also:
•Do not post very small pictures of background vehicles (note: 90 pixels wide for a 720 pixels image is about the limit for useful pictures of most background cars).

I think you miss the point. This is not a regular (fictional) TV series, it is a non-fiction show (which is why I underlined that point above). There are different rules for fictional series/movies. There is also the point of "regular traffic/parked background" vehicles. Some of the background vehicles above probably should not have been accepted. Some were because they were not random cars, but filmed by the producers on purpose. We have allowed background entries for related trucks/equipment to the episodes. If a background vehicle is too small, it will never be accepted. You are always free to add any rejected vehicles to the comments. You have been warned more than once about this. This is the last warning, further abuse will lead to the removal of your contribution rights.
