11'20" minute film from 1924, part of the "Wonderful London" series produced by Graham Wilcox Films and directed by Harry B Parkinson & Frank Miller. Released in 2012 on a BFI dvd

with 12 of these films (apparently there were 20+ altogether). It's the last of the 6 extras on the DVD. Not listed on imdb and can't find it on youtube but it's on BFI site.

As the last of the 12 films posted from the DVD it's a huge anticlimax compared to the others - just a boat ride showing stuff on the river banks - trees, houses, cows, more trees, some boats, more houses etc. The only wheeled thing is this going over Kingston Bridge at 01-34

- if it's a trolley bus and can be ID'd, it can have a page. But it could be a tram ....

A couple of steamboats as consolation prizes

The SL Streatley still exists at the same village - Streatley!! - and can be hired.

Edit - SL Streatley also in these 1949 film comments and 1950 film comments.

The Kingston Bridge location should make this a London United W class open top tram. The tram service was later converted to trolley bus working using the AEC 663T 'Diddler' trollybus /vehicle_923076-AEC-663T-A-1-Class-1932.html

Both tram and trolleybus on the trollybus introduction day May 1931 Link to "www.britishcommercialvehiclemuseum.com"

London Transport Route 601 was London’s first trolleybus route (in the form of London United Tramways’ route 1), and ran from Tolworth to Twickenham via Surbiton, Kingston, Hampton Wick, Teddington and Fulwell.
