Being realistic I agree - horizontal interest low. But I want to register my support - depth of interest high, and I'm keen on Scottish obscurities and historical stuff. I think their wider value is more about what they might contain than their likelihood of being viewed by more than a dedicated few. And they can be fun, which is always useful in retaining contributors/commentators.

Not trying to start Another Big Discussion - us documentary fans need to choose our selections carefully to keep within the spirit of the bigger project, but I think a recognised source or release (eg BFI, National Library of Scotland, recent DVD release etc) keeps us reasonably secure.

 A DVD release would be a good benchmark, but anything from the archive, like Salmon Fishing in the Highlands, I think not.

 I can't in good conscience validate the traffic, which leaves the Fowler Locomotive only.
