Does this mean we now have to add Sedan, Coupe, Convertible, Town Car, Vista etc to the model name?? There are quite a few thousand that will require changing.

The only thing unique about the Crown Victoria is the strip of chrome over the roof. Ford were very inconsistent in the naming of models in this era. From 1951 to 1955 the Crestline and later Fairlane two door hardtop was just called a Victoria, but from 1956 through to at least 1960 it was called a Club Victoria and the Fairlane four door hardtop was a Town Victoria. Whatever - they are all body names, not model names.
