maxman ◊ 2011-12-30 23:43	There was an obvious post-war tank at one point. It seemed like a T-44. As far as the movie goes, it's primarily geared towards kids, so it naturally it will have its silly moments.

Lateef ◊ 2012-03-21 21:13	Obviously not London, the cars drive on the right and have LHD, exactly the opposite from London. The licence plates seen on the vehicles are definitely modeled after Belgian ones, they look nowhere near like British ones of the era. The architecture does not match the way it is in London, it's more reminiscent with how it is in Benelux and surrounding areas. The fact that they use pounds is to make it more understandable for English-language viewers, young children in particular - by using the currency that they're familiar with. -- Last edit: 2012-03-21 21:14:53

Lateef ◊ 2012-03-21 21:33	I don't have a good answer to that, but my remaining evidence appears to be overwhelming. However, I think that British and Italian cars of the era (especially sports cars and luxury sedans) usually kept their RHD configuration as converting RHD into LHD between European countries wasn't as big at the time as it is now (I think). When it comes to USA, however, things are a lot different. Every carmaker at the time dreamed of selling cars in the USA and did everything they could to adapt them for that market. And it could also be an import. For example, my old man owned an Austin Mini in the late 1970s, which was originally British-registered and RHD.
