I wish I knew how to make usable pictures from theis youtube thingy...
The movie is said to be quite crap, but I got an e-mail from the owner of the Opel Super Six Kapitän, and the story of that car is too interesting not to be told here...

Did you see a good view of the Opel in the trailer? On the bridge but it's practically invisible.
Hold 'Alt' and press PrintScreen on your keyboard, en dan naar Bureau-accessoires en 'Plakken' in Paint for example.

And then crop out the rest of the page

I can't find the complete movie elsewhere...

In 1979 I took part in this film with my Opel SuperSix of 1939 (essentially the export-version of the Kapitän). Two nights of filming at the tank training ground of the 'Vlasakkers' (near Amersfoort, Netherlands) for scenes of the trip of Rogan to Hungary and the border-crossing. One afternoon of filming at a picturesque spot in Amsterdam (the arrival of Rogan in Budapest). Driving the car was the Dutch actor Cor van Rijn, while Rogan ( Edward Albert) was sitting beside him during the scenes. I had never seen the scenes with my Opel, because when the film was finally ready in 1982, it was not released in the Netherlands. Not in the theatre nor as a VHS-video. A month ago I noticed that a DVD of 'A Time to Die' (alias 'Seven Graves for Rogan') was offered at websites like Amazon and got hold of one. I was of course very curious which scenes with my car had made it into the final version of the movie. A few minutes with my car are indeed in this movie (the border crossing of Hungary). The scene of the arrival of the Opel in Budapest was not included.
Despite the quality of the actors (a.o. Rex Harrison and Rod Taylor) and a good cameraman, this is not a very good movie (apart from the scenes with my car, of course :) ). But the image-quality of the DVD is even worse! This DVD appears to be a copy of a VHS-cassette, no kidding! Maybe they had thrown away all the original acetate-copies!
Here is a recent photo of me with my Opel SuperSix-Kapitän 1939, which car is 75 years in my family!

Later on in the USA, the producers thought that there was too little action in the movie. So with another director (!), another script writer and another cameraman they shot a car chase with a lot of shooting and a lot of explosions filmed in the US and situated in Hungary. In this scene they used a Volkswagen that had to play the role of an Hungarian police car. The film played in 1948, but this volkswagen - with ventilation windows in the front doors - is obviously a post-1950 model. "Oops..." :)
They tried to make this Volkswagen look like a split-backwindow one by pasting a kind of 'mask' over the larger back window. But this was done in a very crude way!

You may even wonder if the Hungarian police used Volkswagens in 1948 (Hungary was an East-Block country) and if they did, if their police cars had blue flash-lights on the roof top like this one.

Substitute-Opel
When they filmed this car chase they of course needed the same car they had entered Hungary with as a get-away. But in the USA there are no Opels of 1939 available! So they used a substitute for my car that looked superficially like an Opel SuperSix - Kapitän ! I think this car is a Chrysler-Corporation product of 1939, possibly a Plymouth or a Dodge, but I am not sure. Who has any idea?
The car was driven by the same Dutch actor (Cor van Rijn) who had driven my Opel in the Netherlands. So he was called to the USA for these additional scenes!

Looks like a Plymouth of 1939, but I'm not sure...
