My suggestion: check the movie page while you are listening.... this

Upgraded the movie with HD captures, except for the Pontiac Firebird Trans Am and Dodge B-200 actually listed as "Seen only in deleted scenes". Also there is not in my copy the scene for de Coupe DeVille previously submitted (see the Cadyy's page), so main picture actually is the same that wampa-one submitted as thumbnail but in HD. To add new and larger thumbnails some antp's answers will be edited (with his permission) and, that way, users will see better the pictures of the vehicles, specially for 'Christine'

[Image: Christine0001.jpg] [Image: Christine0002.jpg] [Image: Christine0003.jpg]

Goof: Continuity
All we know there were several 'Christines' in the movie and, if you pay attention to the trim, you'll see changes even in the same scene.
An example: Christine is for sale. See the right trim on front fender
[Image: Christine0019.jpg]

But when, at night, Arnie goes to Arnell's (Do It Yourself Garage), there is not part of the trim on upper right fender
[Image: Christine0024.jpg]

And this is obvious. See the car. Between these two pictures no more than 5 seconds

I do not know which one it should be since there is no picture, but even if they do not make Cortina in USA it could have been imported by somebody.
A Cortina is listed for "Gone in 60 seconds (1974)", which is a US movie: http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_5818

Trivia and goofs:
2 other Plymouth models were used in the movie, the Belvedere and Savoy to portray the Fury
Christine is a 58' Fury, Chirsine is refered to, in the book, as a four door sedan. Plymouth Fury's were a smaller model of the Savoy. They were only availible as two door models up intill 1959.
In the book, Christine is said to have Hydramatic transmission. The Fury only had TorqueFlite transmission. Plymouth was a division of the Chrysler Motor Corp. Hydramatic was a General Motors transmission.
Although Plymouth Fury's were availible as special orders, and Christine was said to be a Special Order, alot of the differences between Christine and regualar Furys were not availible as special orders, like Hydramatic transmission and the 4 door model.
When Christine locks her doors and atempts to murder Leigh Cabot, the locks are located by the windows, Furys had their locks by the door handle.

2 car chases (1 when Christine, Plymouth Fury, is chasing down a bully and 1 when Christine chases Reperton in and out of his blue Camaro), 1 explosion (the picture of the Chevy C-30) and loads of car wrecks including the part where Christine is ran over with a Caterpiller (not listed).

And on one of the book covers of the hardback edition, on the front is a large Plymouth sedan. Too big to be a Belvedere or Fury. So it was either a Savoy or Plaza, this isn't the American edition and I am not sure exactly what country got this version.

Oh yeah, Explorer4X4, Christine's model is a Belverde, not a Fury, like always assumed.
How this comes? Fury's were delivered in only, and note: ONLY, burkskin beige interior, white body and silver trim.
And although no model ever had the paint and striping similiar to Christine, a lot of colours were available on the Belverde.

I did not know that. May or may not be true. But Furys also did not come in that tone red, so it was obviously custom painted. So it may also apply to the interior. I do know other model 1958 Plymouths were (supposedly) used in the movie.

Christine is actually a combination of a Belvedere and a Fury. A Fury did never ever have a silver trim, but a gold one. Same goes for the grill and the hubcaps. Also the speedometer went up to 150 mph. It also had a goldcoloured engineblock. Greetings TexasDriver.

There's a remake in the works. I hope the story is more accurate to the book. They better not destroy such nice cars, they should use CGI or something when Christine recieves damage. people want them to use brand new cars (i've seen people suggest the newer dodge charger and the 2009 camaro). People, the the story is about a teen who buys an OLD car, remember that.

In 1958 the base model Plymouths were the Plaza/Deluxe Suburban followed by the Savoy/Custom Suburban and the top of the line was the Belvedere/Sport Suburban/Fury. The Suburbans were the station wagons. The Fury was a sub-model of the Belvedere and was only available as a high performance sport coupe. In 1959 the models were slightly renamed, with the Plaza being dropped, the Savoy becoming the base model, the Belvedere becoming the midline model and the Fury being the top of the line car. So in 1958 you could only get a Fury as a two door, but in 1959 you could get it in either 2 or 4 door. The 59 Sport Fury did have a continental style applique on the trunk lid probably not a true spare tire under it, just an appearance item. As an additional piece of information, the Plaza, Savoy, and Belvedere were all named for hotels.

Those 1957-60 Chrysler Corp. cars were tough indeed. I have some Chrysler Imperials that I run in the local demolition derby. They are hard to kill. I just picked up a 1958 Plymouth Fury 2 dr. hardtop, and I have it painted red with a white top, to look like Christine. It gets lots of comments. The only thing i don't like about the Plymouth Furys, Plaza, and the Beliverdere, wer ethe push button transmissions. They didn't seem to hold up the best. I know in the movie Christine, they had a transmission specialist there at all times.

Did anybody notice the Dodge truck that was green and white? I think it was a C-series, with the fenders that swung out to gain access to the engine. I have a truck like this. Mine is a 1965 Dodge C-700. Mine has a 5 speed transmission, air brakes, air wipers, and was a semi tractor back in the day. The original color of the truck was a lite blue, however, it is now red with black fenders.

As Fury's were so rare, the movie makers also used standard bevedere/savoy plymouth's dressed up to look like fury's. In '58 the only color fury was available in was "Buck-skin Beige", and had the optional 350 "Golden Commando" v8 (hence the gold colored engine block) with 2 4-barrel carbs (producing 305hp/227kw). Contrary to what transam said in an earlier comment; christine was also stated as being "Autumn Red" in the movie, as det. Junkins tells arnie after they had it tested (she was said to have hit moochie hard enough to leave paint chips imbedded in bone).

Had to put my "two cents" in here. I took note of the comment alluding to the "smaller model" of the '57-'58 Plymouth brand cars. In actuality there are and were no smaller Plymouth of any type produced until the Valiant of 1961 ( 1960 Valiant was considered a separate marque and not part of Plymouth until '61). As far as the '57 & '58 ALL non-wagon models shared the same 118" wheelbase and were of the same length. Regardless of models (Plaza, Savoy,Belvedere or Fury) all were full sized models. Owning a Plaza or Savoy meant the same dimensions externally and internally. The models indicated different levels of equipment, trim, slight suspension and in some cases such as the Fury, performance. Any two door hardtop'57-58 can become a Christine with the right trimmings. No "small" Savoy was made until the intermediate models of 1962.

This is great news because I believe that not enough people talk about this movie or the book it inspired. So glad that Christine is FINALLY getting a Stephen King readaptation after the success of It, Pet Sematary, The Stand, and It: Chapter Two! It will be an '80s period piece. I'm hoping it's more faithful to the book except for Christine being possessed by Roland LeBay. I prefer it when she's alive and evil from the start. If they do wreck a Camaro, I hope it's an '80s IROC-Z one and not a '70s Camaro.

Don't like the fact that they are gonna remake it. To me it's like remaking a Back to the Future(1985) or Point Break(1991). Maybe it's underrated, but movie is too good to be remade, nonetheless.
