these 1980 t/a's were pretty slow!...

The car is slower and the movie unfortunately too, not good sequel (however much better than "part 3"), thanks God that Buford T. Justice with Junior are here. [Image: buffordjuniorhy1.9346.jpg]

When this movie was made trucks were solicted thru overdrive magazine if I remembr right .The Bicentennial KW cabover (Red white blue) belonged to a friend of mine from Colorado Springs Co.I was there for the filming he let a friend do the 2 second line in the movie where he says 10-4 good buddie. It was quite a experience to say the least the desert scene took several attempts as every one wanted to have their trucks nose out front. He retired and the truck went thru several hands before dissapearing. All of the trucks there were the same nature except 2 were leased and used in the equipment move .The trailers all belonged to major freight companys of the day

Trucker "LOL" an honorable thing to want to do.. Most of the trucks we had in the movie have been either wrecked, junked, or sold, and are down in ol` Mexico. Good luck with that.
@ Trucker 785 You are correct sir. and Yes "J" as i will call him, was the proud owner of the Bicentennial KW cabover.
Trucker785 you were there as well? cool, and yes it was an eventful week. we had a total of seven trucks from our group of "family" in the Movie. I believe it includes as you said "2 were leased and used in the equipment move" whick were with "J" in the bridge scene. Which were part of our "family" as well.
But i remember it being "J" himself that did do the 10-4 good buddy. I can still taste the catering as i picture it, and the fact that 40 "drivers" needed 5 or so takes to get it right..."LMAO" When i think back on it playing with the multiple Fred`s was fun as well. I was out in Las Vegas a bit ago and cold not believe how much it has grown over in Henderson and i almost could not find where we did the filming, as they pulled the train tracks out and put in gravel pits out the wazoo.. But the lake bed is still there and the hills are pretty much the same also not all the trailers where leased quite a few where "owner operators" but like the bridge scene where the leased ones
In fact the owner of the leased ones in in your pics as well, the green and white freightliner you have listed was his in our "family" as well this is cool i am looking for some of our pics and will add some more

Any shots of the 1976 Pontiac that was usually used in stunt shots in place of Bufords 1980 Bonneville?

The first movie was mostly improvised. Trying to script such lunacy just didn't work.

Who cares what happened to that Trans Am, that was an ugly piece of crap. GM really screwed up that car in 79, 80 and 81. Why do you think the Rockford Files bird never got any older than 78? It was because James Garner didn't like the style of it.

Nothing more seen, except in a minor shot lack of wraparound headlights, so not a St. Regis. So Newport or Gran Fury.

There's also a Massey Ferguson just before Bandit drives under the roller coaster, I think it's a 135.

Oh, and in the opening scene, when the snowman is truck-racing you can see some blurred motorhomes. :)
