Set in the unspecified South American nation. According to the German Wiki, it was mostly filmed in Brazil, with some parts in Chile and Argentina.

I'm very surprised if a Triumph Dolomite ended up anywhere in South America. Some of the other Brits would be unusual there, so I guess there's a Mediterranean location as well - somewhere like Greece or Cyprus or even Israel. Or one of the North African coastal countries as a long shot.

Brit cars are maybe unusual in Brazil or Argentina (or maybe not that so, actually), but they were not uncommon in Chile (one of the filming locations which are mentioned). In the past I´ve seen several Chilean movies from the 1960 & 1970s and there were plenty of UK stuff : mostly Mini´s, some Sunbeams/Hillman´s, Vauxhalls´s etc.

But there is a possibility that some of the footage here might be from the other side of the world, though.

Chile did build Minis - a unique set-up with fibreglass bodies, which did not have roof channels or seam on front wing so not applicable here - and Rootes had several outlets through local Chrysler factories for eg Arrow Hunters and Avengers across South America, so some Brit stuff is unsurprising. But as said the Dolomite is very unexpected, and I'd raise eyebrows for the Cortina (the only South American assembly I know of was briefly in Venezuela, although it was Mk2) and Transit.

The Cortina also has dirty patches either side of the number plate, looking very much as if a European-size plate has been removed.
