 Well, actually the movie consists in a trip from San Francisco (if I remember well) to Winnipeg. So I think that at least a part was actually filmed in USA, and that IMDB's locations list is incomplete.

 Definetly shot in S.F. That phone number on the Frontier's door has the S.F. area code.
