Why were they rejected? I think they can be used.Especially the unknown brown car. i think theres definitely enough there-and its visible enough-to allow it.

It would be nice to list everything, but there has to be some limits and some of the cars are too background, not visible enough or too dark.

That unknown brown car in the last thumb could be a 1974ish Buick Riviera - certainly out of period if it is supposed to be 1964. The white car - thumb#9 - is a big Ford from 1963. The red car behind it looks like a 1966 Chevrolet full size - also out of period. The 'black car parked in front of the Caddy' - #2 - is a 1964 Oldsmobile.

2) "Black car parked in front of Caddy" is a 1963 Oldsmobile 98
4) "unknown wagon" looks like a Ford Pinto Squire
3) "Ford? & a truck behind" I think the Ford is a fuselage Chrysler; the truck looks like a White.

Thanks for posting this one, karoomay - one of my favorites. This film was referred to as "the black American Graffiti" when it came out; they were pretty good in doing the correct purple-and-white 1964 Illinois license plates, although quite a few newer cars show up in the backgrounds. The chase scene in the building was shot inside Chicago's Navy Pier long before it was remodeled into a pedestrian mall.

The car in the last thumb is definitely a 1973 Chevy Monte Carlo - my mother had one; '73 was the only year the license plate was in the bumper ('74-'77 had the plate above the bumper).

I remember that they were changing the license plate color every year until 1979 when they introduced the sticker at the rear plate. They change over another set of plate scheme in the mid-1980's until I moved down to Georgia when they change it again with blue background picture.

No prob! ;) I actually found this movie by chance at a video store combined with Cornbread, Earl and Me selling for $5. When I discovered both of these movies were unlisted on IMCDB, I knew I had to grab it and list them. It was worth it and a great bargain, being able to watch and list these two 70s classics! :D

The film is Godzilla Vs. Mothra, though the Americanized "Godzilla vs. The Thing" is more likely what they are watching. The toy tanks are Mitsubishi Type 61s!

I saw this film and I definitely liked it! I'd sum it up as the black American Graffiti since both films are set in the '60s (though Graffiti does a much better job at hiding the actual time period it was made in) and are about teenagers getting ready to finish high school and wondering where they're gonna go afterwards.

And for karoomayI have Cornbread, Earl, and Me on it's way! Strangely, both that film and Cooley High came out in 1975 and have a character who's set to play in Major League Basketball but doesn't get there. I wonder if any of the same people worked on both films.
